Bacon Without the Mess!
Who doesn’t love bacon! It’s the focus of any breakfast or brunch! But what I always hate about making bacon is the greasy mess it leaves behind. But here’s a way to make bacon without the mess and the best part is it tastes just as good.
You first need to start with really good bacon. Make sure it has more meat than fat (unless you like it a little bit fattier). I actually like the fat!
Then on your favorite cookie sheet, line the bacon up side by side on top of two layers of paper towels. The paper towels soak up the grease and make for an easy clean up. Bake the bacon in the oven at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes. The time will depend on your oven. Make sure you burp the oven (open it once to let out all the steam) early on in the cooking, this will make the bacon a little crispier. While the bacon is cooking, you can prepare the rest of your breakfast or dinner. Check out how we do Breakfast for Dinner!
In my experience, paper towels some times catch fire in the oven 😉 you didn’t have that problem?
No luckily I didnt:). You want to make sure you put it on the middle rack of the oven and never put it too close to the top.
