IÂ never need an excuse to eat bacon! Â I actually never need an excuse to share my favorite bacon recipe!
You would never believe how much better bacon can get with this Bacon Candy recipe! Â After you try this recipe, you will know it can!
My husband made this Bacon Candy recipe for a wine tasting party we hosted at our house. Â It was a huge hit! Â It’s the perfect appetizer and great with a glass of wine or your favorite beer.
This recipe has only 3 ingredients. Â Bacon (thick cut), brown sugar and chili powder. Â You will need about 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 2 teaspoons of chili powder. Â Mix the two together.
It’s important you have the proper pan. Â When we first made this, we didn’t put enough foil on the pan and it was a nightmare to clean. Â So when you set up your cookie sheet, put a layer of parchment paper down first. Â Then add two layers of tin foil.
You will lay the bacon, strip by strip, on the pan. Â We used about 20 stripes of bacon. Â Then generously sprinkle the bacon with the brown sugar and chili powder mixture. Â You will put this in the oven at 400 degrees for about 20-25 minutes.
The Bacon Candy will come out with a nice glaze on top. Â You will need to let the bacon cool off the pan on a cooking rack.
The Bacon Candy should be served warm. Â I paired it with white wine and some Brie cheese and crackers. Â The Bacon Candy is very rich, so a few slices is more than enough to serve. Â This is one recipe you will be giving out to your friends!
