Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
There is something so comforting about Oatmeal Raisin Cookies! It’s almost like eating a warm hug or wrapping yourself in a blanket in front of the fire.
I almost love that an oatmeal raisin cookie isn’t perfect in shape or size. It’s kind of unique and awkward in a sense but the taste is undeniable. It’s a wonderful snack or dessert especially this time of year.
It starts with the oatmeal. You can use quick or the old-fashioned style oatmeal.
Once you combine all of the traditional cookie ingredients like butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, you will add the oatmeal and the raisins.
The cookie dough is nice and thick. I used a small ice cream scoop to even out my cookie dough. This goes into the oven at 350° for 8-10 minutes depending on the gooey -ness you love.
These cookies are perfect to make in bulk. This recipe makes 4 dozen cookies — perfect for a fall football weekend.
I actually made these cookies because I wanted to enjoy this treat for the season premiere of my favorite show, Outlander! It is by far my favorite tv show. It’s based on a series of books by Diana Gabaldon. It’s a beautiful love story mixed in with a little time travel. It’s based in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. I would definitely picture these Highlanders eating Oatmeal Raisin Cookies!
