Homemade Kitchen Potpourri!
There are certain smells in the house that remind me of different times of the year! Â Apple Pie makes me think of Thanksgiving, Â the smell of freshly baked cookies brings me back to Christmas and this homemade kitchen potpourri has fall and Halloween written all over it! Â It’s amazing how certain smells in the kitchen make you think of special times of the year. Â What I like about this recipe is that it cooks all day, keeping the house smelling incredible! The recipe is pretty simple. Â One orange, one apple and a few cinnamon sticks. Â But water may be the key ingredient because if the potpourri drys out on the stove, it will just burn (and you will have a burn smell in your kitchen). Â Just cut the orange and apple into pieces.
Put in a small pot with the cinnamon sticks and add water. Â Bring the water to a simmer and enjoy the aroma of sweet apple cinnamon in the kitchen. Â As I mentioned, the key is to make sure you don’t run out of water. Â When it gets low, just add more water to the pot. This will have your kitchen and house smelling like fall!
