Salad Pizza
Pizza and salad go perfectly together, so logically putting the two together makes perfect sense right? This Salad Pizza does that with a combination of a white pizza and a vinaigrette salad on top. I think we all want to eat our favorite foods without feeling guilty. That is what I love about this pizza. It allows us to eat pizza with a healthy salad on top!
I will leave the crust up to you. I love making a fresh pizza crust, like this one. But in a pinch, it’s just as good picking up a refrigerated pizza crust for this recipe. Simply follow the instructions for the crust.
If you like white pizza, you will love this recipe. It uses ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and a little grated Parmesan. First mix the ricotta with garlic, salt, and pepper. Then add the rest of the cheese.
This goes in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 400°. Remove the pizza when it is done to your desired taste. I tend to like my cheese a little brown, especially on the corners. I also love a crunchy crust!
In a separate bowl, you will add your balsamic vinaigrette to about 4 cups of mixed greens. This recipe can be whatever you enjoy — if not, check out my vinaigrette recipe below. You’ll add the salad to the pizza, cut and serve. You can add some red pepper flakes if you want something a little spicer! For this dish, I would go with a white wine. I like a buttery Chardonnay or a Pinot Gris with this piza.
