Lakeside Cheese Board

The only thing that makes the quiet, tranquil setting of the sun setting on the lake is a Lakeside Cheese Board and wine, of course! In my opinion, a cheese board works for every occasion but it really works in this beautiful environment.

WHY THIS LAKESIDE CHEESE BOARD WORKS

First of all, why doesn’t this Lakeside Cheese Board and wine work? I am such a huge fan of cheese boards I actually created A Cheese Board for more cheese board inspiration. This board comes with the added benefit of a beautiful lake view. When you combine your favorite cheeses, a nice bottle of wine, and a view, nothing is better.

WHAT ON THIS CHEESE BOARD

  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Gouda Cheese
  • Manchego Cheese
  • Dried Salami
  • Green Apple
  • Dried Apricots
  • Mixed Nuts
  • Sourdough Bread

Not to mention a delicious wine, Dove Hunt Dog by Scout & Cellar. Their Chardonnay is flawless and pairs perfectly with cheese. Any light, crisp white wine will go perfectly with a cheese board and a lovely sunset. It’s one of the most beautiful settings for a cheese board or plate ever. And remember you can interchange any of these cheeses with cheese you love.

NOTES FOR CREATING A CHEESE BOARD

  • First, always start with what you love plus something new. I am a firm believer in trying new cheeses with each cheese board just in case it becomes your new favorite.
  • Cheese and Charcuterie go hand-in-hand, so think about pairing cheese with at least one meat.
  • Thirdly, always add a bread or cracker source. You will need something to put the cheese on.
  • A Fruit is a must along with something else that is sweet. I like to add dried fruit to add a little sweetness to the board.
  • Finally, include something easy to eat like mixed nuts to pair with the rest of the plate.
  • Oh — wine it’s a MUST.
