My husband recently made this Bacon Candy recipe for a wine tasting party we hosted at our house.  It was a huge hit!  It’s the perfect appetizer and great with a glass of wine or your favorite beer.

Burnt Macaroni - herb garden, soccer, bacon candy 268aThis recipe has only 3 ingredients.  Bacon (thick cut), brown sugar and chili powder.  You will need about 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 2 teaspoons of chili powder.  Mix the two together.

Burnt Macaroni - herb garden, soccer, bacon candy 278You will lay the bacon, strip by strip, on the pan.  We used about 20 stripes of bacon.  Then generously sprinkle the bacon with the brown sugar and chili powder mixture.  You will put this in the oven at 400 degrees for about 20-25 minutes.

The Bacon Candy should be served warm.  I paired it with white wine and some Brie cheese and crackers.  The Bacon Candy is very rich, so a few slices is more than enough to serve.  This is one recipe you will be giving out to your friends!
