I started really thinking about foods for the brain when I realized my kids would benefit from certain brain-boosting foods…especially while at school. So I did a little research and found there are tons of foods that help the brain and help you focus. Of course, there are more than 10 ingredients or foods that will boost your brainpower but I wanted to focus on recipes that feature these ingredients.

Boost Your Brainpower with these 10 Ingredients

  1. Blueberries
  2. Greens (Spinach & Kale)
  3. Avocados
  4. Beans
  5. Eggs
  6. Nuts (Walnuts)
  7. Spices (Cinnamon & Turmeric)
  8. Apples
  9. Oatmeal
  10. Dark Chocolate

It’s amazing what some of these spices will do to help the brain function at a higher level. Cinnamon & turmeric and herbs like rosemary, thyme, and sage are all good for the brain and easy to incorporate into your diet. I started using cinnamon and turmeric in my morning smoothie. Just remember to add a pinch of black pepper with the turmeric because he helps to digest it.
