Ingredients

  • 2 cups Strawberries chopped
  • 1 cup Sugar divided
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting up the strawberries. Add the chopped strawberries to a bowl with 1/2 cup of the sugar. The sugar will melt into the strawberries. After 15 minutes, add to a food processor or blender and puree until smooth.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the strawberry puree with the heavy cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, salt, and 1/2 cup of remaining sugar. Mix until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  3. Add to your ice cream maker and follow instructions. It usually takes about 30-40 minutes.

  4. Remove and pour into an ice cream container or chilled bread loaf pan. Serve frozen or store in the freezer for later use.

Recipe Notes

  • If you are going to store the ice cream in a bread loaf, put in the freezer for at least one hour before adding the ice cream to keep it cold.
  • You can make the dessert a bit chunkier by adding a few extra strawberries once it's done in the ice cream maker.
  • Keep the ice cream in the freezer when not enjoying it -- if you don't finish it all in one serving:)
