When Bad Food Happens to Good People!
I fully intended to share an amazing Super Bowl recipe with you today. I had hoped it would be a big hit with my family and talked about for years to come. But then this happened!
Yes I burned the baked beans. I was so excited about this recipe that Al Roker shared on The Today Show but sometimes bad food happens to good people with the best intentions! Honestly this is why I started Burnt Macaroni, no not to share burnt baked beans, but to show you that as I continue to learn to cook — I’m going to make mistakes. But seriously….
How do you burn baked beans?
I can come up with a thousand reasons why it happened. Didn’t have enough water in the pan…my oven is a convection oven and gets hotter than normal ovens …. I didn’t check it enough and the list goes on and on. The truth is I’m not sure what happened!
As my husband said when he first saw it “something went horribly wrong with that” — you think? Then my daughter added “I am NOT eating that”!
A big positive…it did have a good flavor (when you ate around the burnt pieces)! And at least I wasn’t hosting a big Super Bowl party!
So maybe this was a huge miss — but I fully intend to try it again and correct my mistakes.
Stay tuned….
In the spirit of full disclosure her husband’s ribs (mine) didn’t turn all that well either due to grill issues. So I guess it was a good thing we were not having a big party for the Super Bowl.
Good point Dear:)
